Amanda Finstad, MA
Mental Health Clinician
“I believe in the connection between humans and nature. A connection that brings healing, well-being, and a sense of self. At a young age, I became aware of the healing powers that being in nature provided. Since finding my own sense of well-being in the depths of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, I became passionate and determined to share nature with others. My graduate school offered ecotherapy as an area of concentration, which allowed for me to continue my love for nature while gaining the knowledge and evidence that nature-based therapies work.I am incredibly grateful to work for Northwest Passage, as it is a place that allows me to share my passion with kids in the work that I do as a therapist.
To me, hope means knowing that there is better yet to come. Hope is what gets us through struggles to end in triumph.”
