“The beauty and solitude I find in nature are more comforting than anything I have found in the city. Conversations about morality and spirituality can make for some of the most invigorating and thought-provoking conversations. As social beings, our relationships allow us to change (and possibly grow) depending on which relationships we decide to nurture.”

QUOTE

“Hope implies a certain degree of trust and/or desire. Therefore, I would say that hope is a necessary building block in our mission to instill lasting, positive change in the lives of our kids.”

PROFILE

Brit is passionate about education and presenting curriculum so that her students can understand and relate to what they are learning. She is motivated to bring creative lesson plans to the classroom that are differentiated for a variety of learners. One way in which she does this is by incorporating a blend of hands-on learning, experiential learning, and inquiry based projects into the school curriculum. Brit believes in building a solid foundation for students to build upon, which includes reading and math interventions based off of formal and informal assessments. Brit’s goals for the classroom include improving student confidence, increasing student growth in math and reading skills, implementing technology to expand learning opportunities and to provide students with real life experiences paired with their in-class education. Brit is licensed in Wisconsin to teach Biology and Special Education (cross categorical with EBD emphasis).

“I believe that I am my best self when I incorporate a balance between time alone to relax and reflect with enjoying recreational activities with friends and family. I know when I take care of myself first that I am better able to serve others.”
