Despite a rainy morning that caused a 1-hour delay, there was a great turnout for the 21st Annual Passage Golf Scramble, themed “Hats Off! to our golfers” in honor of their 20 years of support for the event. Frederic Golf Course was a busy place as 27 teams prepared for the 1:00 shotgun start. The event was a huge success with dozens of community members and organizations stepping up to raise over $14,000 to support the programs and graduates of Northwest Passage. Northwest Passage has been dedicated to restoring hope through innovative mental health services for children and families for over 40 years. The money raised will be used to support programs for current and past residents who demonstrate success on their road to recovery.
First Place Team: Bernick’s Pepsi
The first-place prize of $300 was awarded to the team from Bernick’s Pepsi, consisting of Kevin Delozier, Jared Mork, Ben Davis, and Tyler Hall, and was graciously donated back to Northwest Passage’s PassageWay Fund.
Teams enjoyed a delicious meal as they listened to Northwest Passage Alumni speaker Jaxon and his family explain how his time at Northwest Passage shaped his future. Jaxon was the recipient of a bicycle through the PassageWay Fund and stated that performing maintenance on his bicycle with his adoptive father was their first bonding experience. Jaxon is now a successful high school student who enjoys playing on the Lacrosse team. He and his family expressed gratitude to everyone who came out to support kids, like Jaxon, as they work to improve their futures.
The day ended with dozens of valuable prizes, including a 65″ TV, golf equipment, a kayak, Adirondack chairs, several golf packages, and much more being awarded to lucky raffle winners.
